Open Rank Faculty Positions (tenured/tenure-track) in Epidemiology - Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences
The Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences (PQHS) in the School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) welcomes applications and nominations for the hire of three open rank tenure-track/tenured faculty positions in the general area of Epidemiology (includes but not limited to, cancer epidemiology, chronic disease epidemiology, infectious disease epidemiology, social epidemiology, spatial epidemiology, behavioral epidemiology, clinical epidemiology, and public health and epidemiology informatics). These positions provide a unique opportunity to collaborate with internationally renowned affiliated hospital systems - the Cleveland Clinic, the University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, the Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, and the MetroHealth System. Additional collaborations include - Cleveland Institute for Computational Biology (http://www.icompbio.net/ ), Case Comprehensive Cancer Center (https://case.edu/cancer/ ), the Prevention Research Center for Healthy Neighborhoods (https://prchn.org/ ), Swetland Center for Environmental Health (https://case.edu/swetland/ ), and the Clinical and Translational Science Collaborative (CTSC, http://casemed.case.edu/ctsc/ ).
PQHS is a vibrant multidisciplinary, research-intensive department with over 35 faculty encompassing specialties of epidemiology, biostatistics, informatics, and health outcomes and behavior. PQHS faculty members maintain collaborative interactions with various institutional (e.g. Engineering, the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, etc.), local (e.g. the Ohio Department of Health, etc.), national, and international partners.
Applicants must have a PhD, MD or equivalent doctoral degree; Applicants for Associate or Full Professor level should demonstrate a record of peer-reviewed extramural funding commensurate with rank. Applicants for Assistant Professor should explain their potential for obtaining peer-reviewed extramural funding. All applicants are expected to possess collaborative skills, contribute to teaching (i.e. one course per year), and show a commitment to the education and mentorship of trainees, with attention to underrepresented individuals. Applicants at the senior rank should demonstrate the leadership and desire to help guide the epidemiology cluster.
