The Department of Pathology at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) is recruiting new faculty to expand its vibrant immunology research portfolio.  Applications are encouraged from physician-scientists and PhD scientists with research programs in immunology, including lymphocyte biology, cancer immunology, immunotherapy, autoimmune and inflammatory disorders, immunity to infection, epigenetic regulation of immune responses, leukocyte function, and other areas of innate and adaptive immunity and host defense. The positions will be supported by substantial start-up packages and the opportunity to participate in the Immunology Training Program, an inter-institutional program centered in the Department of Pathology. In addition, together with the Center for Global Health and Diseases (CGHD) in the department, the Department of Pathology support research from basic immunology to international clinical trials and NIH training grants in global health/infectious diseases. Other institutional strengths include the CWRU Center for AIDS Research, the Tuberculosis Research Unit, the Division of Infectious Diseases and HIV Medicine, the Department of Molecular Biology and Microbiology, and the Wesley Center of Immunotherapy at the University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. Annual research funding in immunology and infectious diseases exceeds $100M across CWRU and affiliates, and the Pathology Department is consistently ranked in the top 10-13 for NIH funding.

Candidates at the Assistant Professor level should have a demonstrated record of success in multiple venues with substantial potential to obtain external funding. Candidates at the Associate or Full Professor levels should have robust and active research programs and demonstrable national or international reputations, respectively. Associate and Full Professor candidates should also be effective mentors and leaders.
