The successful candidate will possess a strong background in acting and/or directing and a knowledge of contemporary training and performance techniques for the actor; an ability to teach beginning and advanced acting courses and direct student productions; a commitment to equity and diversity in teaching; and a desire and ability to work with colleagues to sustain and grow a program for the 21st-century theatre artist. Duties include teaching, advising, and mentoring undergraduate students; maintaining a vibrant professional creative or scholarly research agenda; and providing ongoing service to the university and profession.

, and Technology, a BA in Music, a BA in Music Business, a BM in Music Performance, and a BM in Jazz Studies. The faculty consists of performing artists and scholars. The Department of Theatre is led by Yasen Peyankov, Head of Theatre. Prof. Peyankov is an acclaimed Chicago actor and director whose work on stage is closely associated with Steppenwolf Theatre where he is an Ensemble Member since 2002. The School of Theatre and Music is led by Christine Dunford, Director (actor, director, adaptor) an Ensemble Member of Chicago’s Lookingglass Theatre Company since 1989.
