: 

The Department of Engineering Technology at College of Technology is seeking a tenure-track faculty candidate in intelligent and autonomous systems, with applications to areas such as: (1) sustainable and resilient networking and communication systems (2) smart sensing in healthcare (monitoring), manufacturing (control and automation), and infrastructure (smart buildings and power grids), (3) security and privacy in cyber-physical and embedded systems, and  (4) computational health informatics. Intelligent systems is a cutting-edge discipline, and the successful candidate is required to work in a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative environment across departments and colleges.

About Engineering Technology (ET) & the College of Technology (CoT):
The CoT is one of the fastest growing colleges at the University of Houston, and with over 4,000 students, it is the 4th largest college on campus. As per the American Society of Engineering Education’s (ASEE) 2020 report, CoT is #1 in total number of engineering technology (ET) enrollment and total number of degrees awarded, #1 in total number of ET degrees awarded to underrepresented minorities (44.2% of total degrees awarded by CoT) and #1 in total number of ET degrees awarded to women.

Qualifications

: 

A Ph.D. degree in technology (or engineering) and computer science or related areas is required.  Postdoctoral and/or industry experience is preferred. Preference will be given for appointments at the assistant professor level, but all levels will be considered.
