The Department of Emergency Medicine at the Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio is recruiting for highly qualified full-time residency trained academic Emergency Physician faculty positions at the UT Health Multispecialty and Research Hospital and other clinical venues as needed. Medical Directorship position available. Academic rank and title will be commensurate with experience and the requirements of the Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine. 

Optimal candidates will have an established track record of peer-reviewed research, excellence in education and outstanding clinical service. We offer a wide variety of opportunities for program development and scholarly productivity in the areas of trauma, global medicine, health services, quality & safety and medical education. The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic group of academic Emergency Physicians committed to creating the premiere Emergency Medicine residency program and academic department in Texas. Candidates must be BC/BE in Emergency Medicine.

Job Responsibilities: 

·        Responsibilities include the provision of care to critically ill and injured patients in an emergency department setting as well as teaching fellows, residents, medical students, staff and overseeing the section and its administrative initiatives.

·        Participate in departmental and hospital committees

·        Provide support to the Emergency Medicine residency program and medical student rotations

·        Attend monthly Emergency Department physician meetings, and present pediatric operations reports as needed

·        Participation in Departmental and Hospital Process Improvements and Quality Improvement efforts

·        Continued involvement in scholarly activity as evidenced by scholarly publications, participation in specialty society organizations and/or peer-reviewed research funding

·        Maintain professional affiliations and involvement at national, state and local organizations.

·        If qualified and selected for a Medical Director role, job responsibilities may include directorship duties

 

Required Qualifications:

·        MD or DO degree from an accredited institution

·        Board certified or eligible in Emergency Medicine

·        Licensed for practice of medicine in the state of Texas
