Position Summary:
This posting is for a part-time (50%) position in Gastroenterology. The candidate will demonstrate expertise in the use of evidence-based assessment and treatment approaches for children and adolescents presenting in pediatric medical specialty care clinics and inpatient medical settings. Clinics at Children’s Hospital Colorado provide embedded, integrated behavioral health services. Those with interest and experience in pediatric/medical psychology and in gastroenterology are highly encouraged to apply.
Please note, this is an open rank positions and could be categorized as Clinical Instructor, Clinical Senior Instructor, Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below. Clinical designations indicate an employment percentage less than 50%.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Use evidence-based assessment and treatment approaches for children and adolescents, and families presenting for Gastroenterology clinic (clinic and outpatient settings)
- Supervise, teach, and mentor psychology trainees and consult with other mental health/medical providers and staff.
- May have opportunities to engage in quality improvement, program development, and/or scholarship
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at:
- Clinical Instructor: $90,000 to $105,000.
- Clinical Senior Instructor: $90,000 to $105,000.
- Clinical Assistant Professor: $90,000 to $105,000.
- Clinical Associate Professor: $113,000 to $130,000.
- Clinical Professor: $162,000 to $200,000.
This represents the 25-50 percentile of the salary range which is reflective of a candidate with 1-7 years of experience. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Clinical Instructor:
- 1-3 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience
- PhD and/or PsyD
- Colorado Psychologist License or be eligible for licensure within the state of Colorado
- Must have significant prior experience in a psychiatric setting serving children and adolescents
- Completed an APA-approved Ph.D. or Psy.D training program, including an APA-approved internship
Clinical Senior Instructor:
- 1-3 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience
- PhD and/or PsyD
- Colorado Psychologist License or be eligible for licensure within the state of Colorado
- Must have significant prior experience in a psychiatric setting serving children and adolescents
- Completed an APA-approved Ph.D. or Psy.D training program, including an APA-approved internship
Clinical Assistant Professor:
- 1-3 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience
- PhD and/or PsyD

- Completed an APA-approved Ph.D. or Psy.D training program, including an APA-approved internship.
Clinical Professor:
- 7+ years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience
- PhD and/or PsyD
- Colorado Psychologist License or be eligible for licensure within the state of Colorado
- Must have significant prior experience in a psychiatric setting serving children and adolescents
- Completed an APA-approved Ph.D. or Psy.D training program, including an APA-approved internship.
Preferred Qualifications (applicable for all ranks)
- Minimum of 1 - 2 years of experience after completion of post-doctoral fellowship in child and adolescent psychology clinical work.
- Experience working in an APA accredited training program.
- Preference will be given to those who are eager to lead or collaborate on research or quality improvement initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to conduct diagnostic interviews, crisis evaluations, and employ use of evidence-based assessments.
- Ability to develop treatment goals and plans, as well as evaluate treatment progress and make appropriate changes, when needed.
- Strong foundation in behavioral and cognitive behavioral theory. Well-versed in evidence-based treatments and ability to flexibly apply these interventions with fidelity across a wide range of presenting concerns.
- Knowledge of research and quality improvement methodology, as well as ability to independently conduct research and/or quality improvement projects.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Capacity for flexibility and adaptability in different work situations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to provide effective supervision to mental health trainees and consultation to other mental health professionals.
