Postdoctoral Research Position in Health Equity Science and Health Policy at Stanford
The Health Equity Innovation Lab, led by Drs. Alyce S. Adams (https://profiles.stanford.edu/alyce-adams ) and Tainayah Thomas (https://profiles.stanford.edu/tainayah-thomas ), is seeking a postdoctoral scholar in health equity science. Postdoctoral scholars will work on grant-funded research projects in health policy that draw on one of two methodological areas: (1) Natural experiments or (2) Implementation science. The work will inform health policy decision-making at the local, state or federal level to reduce disparities in prevention and treatment outcomes for diabetes and cancer. These projects leverage big data analytics and qualitative and community engagement methodologies. Trainees with experience with these methods are welcome to apply regardless of discipline.
Our highly collaborative team is motivated by complex challenges facing the health system and policy leaders related to health equity. The lab aims to accelerate the path from research to impact through close collaboration with patient, caregiver, clinician and community partners at all stages of the research. We believe in individualized approaches to mentorship and tailoring training goals to meet individual needs. Leaning opportunities include:

- Weekly works-in-progress meetings with faculty and other trainees and fellows
- Experience writing at least one first-authored publication
- Invitation to attend seminars on career and skill development topics
Drs. Adams and Thomas are also faculty in the DREAMS-CDTR (https://med.stanford.edu/dreams-cdtr.html ) and Adjunct Investigators at the Kaiser Permanente Division of Research. Dr. Adams is also Associate Director of Cancer Health Equity at the Stanford Cancer Institute (https://impact.stanford.edu/ ).
