The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy, Division of Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacognosy announces two new tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. Research support will be partially funded by the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center (OSUCCC). The OSUCCC is one of 49 NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers and has earned the NCI’s highest ranking of exceptional during the last two CCC-designation grant cycles. Our more than 340 cancer researchers, who collectively represent 11 of the 15 colleges at Ohio State, generate $90 million in research funding each year, including $54 million in funding from the NCI. The successful candidate for this position will have demonstrated exceptional promise in the areas of anticancer drug discovery, synthetic medicinal chemistry, high-throughput or high-content screening of small molecules, or chemical biology relevant to cancer. Candidates must hold a PhD or equivalent degree. Senior faculty applicants must have a track record of cancer-specific research funding. This candidate will commit to the research and educational mission of the OSU College of Pharmacy and OSUCCC to train the next generation of biomedical scientists, develop new insights into cancer, and create new tools or technologies to better treat, diagnose, and prevent this disease. The successful candidate will embody a spirit of collaboration to foster interdisciplinary research.

Candidates must hold a PhD or equivalent degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field; the candidate must provide evidence of innovative research in medicinal chemistry, chemical biology, or a related field. This will be a joint recruiting effort between the College of Pharmacy and The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the candidate must provide proposals for future cancer-focused research. Evidence of excellence in scholarship must be demonstrated by research published in peer-reviewed journals. In addition, evidence must be provided to support the candidate’s potential for building an independent research program and attaining independent extramural research funding.
