Job Description

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of FHSU Online – Student Success, this position is responsible for the proactive outreach process to online students. Engaging online students from the point of admission and beyond, the Online Student Success Coach will complement retention initiatives by answering questions and concerns, setting expectations, promoting tools and services, and building relationships to help foster student success.

This position requires excellent customer service, problem solving, and relationship building.

Minimum Qualifications: Qualified candidates should have a bachelor’s degree with one year of experience in higher education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with fully online, non-traditional, and military-connected student populations.
  • Effective written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in office technology applications (i.e., Microsoft Office) as demonstrated by the application documents.
  • Organized, self-motivated, and pays attention to detail.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English.

Responsibilities:

Execute newly admitted online student communication plan (next steps, expectations, promote tools and services, etc.). Assist the Assistant Director of FHSU Online – Student Success in online student retention initiatives such as Online Student Orientation, interim grade check-ins, and assessing and fulfilling online student needs. Use CRM and other technologies to maintain student records and log communications. Assist in the coordination of National Online Learning Day and National Distance Learning Week. Assist with online student events as needed. Additional duties as assigned.
