  We are seeking a talented and innovative Instructional Designer to join our team. As part of our team, you will focus on and create dynamic micro-credential programs for educators, students, and family members. These bite-sized, skill-focused learning experiences empower learners to showcase their accomplishments. These programs can range from educator professional development, college & career readiness skills for students, and supporting students as they explore colleges for their families, offering the impact of learning and growth across the state. Job Requirements

Required Education:  Bachelor's degree, AND:

  • 24 months experience working in an instructional design position.

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months of related experience.

Skills

  • Skilled in educational program development and coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop educational products for various learners, use of multi-media strategies for educational products, and dissemination of information and materials.
  • Knowledge of adult learning strategies and methodology, interdisciplinary practices, and disability issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups in planning, developing, and evaluating products.
  • Skilled in facilitating grant-funded professional learning.
  • Project Management Practices

Working Conditions

  • Standard office environment. 

Departmental Preference

  • A master’s degree in education or a related field
  • 60 months of teaching in a secondary classroom.
  • 36 months as a building leader, team leader, department chair, or curriculum coordinator.

Special Requirements: 

  • Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods.
  • Will be required to travel to school sites and national conferences to meet with leaders, community partners, and GEAR UP stakeholders and facilitate research and evaluation activities; this may require overnight trips.
  • Actively participate in K20 Center-sponsored professional learning experiences and, when available, seek certification for learning opportunities.
