Working Title Online Coordinator & Academic Coach
Brief Summary of Job Description
The Online Coordinator & Academic Coach supports the College of Education online programs and leads the academic, career and professional advising and coaching for the College of Education online students. The position must have a strong commitment to student recruitment and retention.
Job Duties
1-· Leads the academic, career, and professional advising and coaching for current online students working towards timely completion of degree.
· Assist with the management of academic plans and communication strategies with current online students.
· Lead efforts in establishing practicum placements and internships for current online students as well as maintaining relevant documentation.
· Lead communication efforts in securing practicum places, internships, and full-time opportunities for current online students.
. Lead efforts in connecting current online students with employers.
2-· Collaborate with Department and UNK Online recruiting and management personnel to manage the recruitment funnel for online prospects through the CRM.
· Collaborate with Department and UNK Online personnel to assist with the design, development, and implementation of targeted marketing and retention campaigns specific to online programs.
. Assist with the facilitation of events to sustain relationships with community partners and cooperating professionals.
3-· Lead efforts in compiling, organizing, and presenting program data relative to online program enrollment, retention, outcomes, etc. Efforts should be aligned to recruit new students and to service current students to ensure student outcomes and program stability.
. Work closely with Department to coordinate the completion of necessary documents including applications, program supporting materials, comprehensive exam, exit surveys, and graduation.
4-· Collaborate with other coordinators as an active member of the Online Coordinator Coalition.
· Provide exceptional customer service including timely response to emails and voice messages.
. Communicates with College of Education Teacher Certification officer regarding online students.
Required Qualifications
1-Bachelor’s degree required.
2-Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
3-Must use independent judgement, initiative, organization, creativity, flexibility, and technology skills on a regular and on-going basis with a focus on student success.
4-Must manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with accuracy, while always keeping student success the number one priority.
5-Must possess problem solving and decision-making skills.
6-Must interact well with and relate to college students, particularly non-traditional students in the online space and interact well with Program Chairs, Administration, and Staff.
Preferred Qualifications
1-Preferred bachelor’s degree in communication disorders.
2-Preferred master’s degree in educational leadership, higher-ed student affairs, online learning, or related field.
Physical Demands
Schedule M-F, 8am-5pm, 40 hours
