Essential Job Duties
The purpose of the position is to support the campus wide services related to card office and card transaction processing, including:
  • Provide technical oversight of the card office systems and transaction processing systems within Campus Enterprises to ensure operations are fully functioning.
  • Lead in the configuration of new dining locations so they are able to communicate over the campus network and can successfully transact via P2PE/Gold.
  • Update software and hardware systems as needed with patching and software releases.
  • Provide technical support to Micros POS of the Card Office as needed.
  • Write and distribute database queries to provide system financial information to users.
  • Serve as the liaison with campus departments that utilize the system for data and transactions to troubleshoot problems and implement new features.
  • Utilize ODBC report writing software to configure and provide report data as needed.
  • Serve as Level 1 tech support for transaction systems and users.
  • Assist in the programming and implementation of biometric devices in conjunction with the meal plan program.
  • Support the director in Identifying retail hospitality and student-service opportunities that continually improve customer experiences.
  • Respond to service requests in a prioritized and prompt manner.

  • Understand the goals and culture of the organization and understand how employees’ work activities, teamwork and customer service impact vendors and clients.
  • Adhere to all university policies, procedures and regulations and division standard operating practices and protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure Campus Enterprises’ business needs are met.

Qualifications


Minimum Experience/Education

Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the area of assignment; or bachelor’s degree and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the area of assignment; or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Other Required Qualifications
  • Comprehension of commonly applied principles, concepts, and methodologies, operating characteristics and capabilities of systems, media, equipment, and related software systems, processes and procedures.
  • Ability to apply organizational theories to solve various business issues.
  • Must be able to multi-task and set priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work autonomously and efficiently, in addition to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, including the ability to remain professional and respectful under pressure when dealing with difficult situations, to team and customers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with customers, peers and supervisors; and ability to professionally communicate with multiple levels of employees within the University.
  • Must follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet platforms, Microsoft Office or Google Suite.
  • Requires bending, twisting, pulling and pushing.
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds above head and up to 60 pounds on rare occasions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Progressive program/system management experience, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Knowledge of basic networking equipment and concepts.
  • Demonstrated management skills such as leadership, planning, and organization.
  • Considerable knowledge of University software systems – WRS, Peoplesoft, PeopleAdmin, SIS, SAR, etc.
  • Supervisory experience
