Job Summary
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the College of Sciences and Mathematics at Auburn University invites applicants for the position of Office Supervisor. The Office Supervisor will provide leadership and direction in the support services of the Department. This position will work closely with the Graduate Program Officer and the Department Chair.

Essential Functions
The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to: 
  • Management of the day-to-day operations of the Mathematics and Statistics main office.
  • Administrative assistance to the Chair of the department.
  • Overseeing building maintenance projects.
  • Coordinating room assignments and reservations.
  • Assisting the Graduate Program Officer with graduate applications, files, registration, and communication with the Graduate School. 
  • Assisting with course and classroom scheduling.
  • Keeping records of course syllabi.
  • Maintaining personnel and student files.
  • Supervising administrative associate and student workers; working with department staff and liaising with the college’s Human Resources and Business Offices.

Minimum Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Candidate must have a High School Diploma or equivalent plus 6 years of experience in administrative support services.
Substitutions allowed for Experience:
When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.

Minimum Skills and Abilities
Candidate must demonstrate excellent written and interpersonal communication
skills. Candidate must be efficient with time management and multi-tasking.
Candidate must also have excellent customer service skills. Candidate must also be
committed to creating and maintaining a diverse and inclusive environment.
Minimum Technology Skills
Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Access,
Powerpoint, and Outlook). Working knowledge of general office equipment.

Desired Qualifications


Desired Qualifications
Desired Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in
Business or a related field. Experience with Auburn University’s Banner System,
Advise Assist, Degree Works, FERPA, Kronos, SharePoint and Auburn University’s
policies and procedures are also desired.
