As an Office Specialist, you will:

  • Act as the first point of contact for customers via phone and walk-ins.
  • Execute the full cycle of selling and processing parking permits, answer customer questions, and provide information relative to Parking & Transit Services.
  • Address customer concerns by trying to find workable solutions or answers to individual parking issues, listening to complaints, offering a suggestion form, and/or notify the appropriate supervisor.
  • Prepare to open the office and maintain the front lobby and supply cabinet.
  • Collect and process customer payments, generate and reconcile consolidated billing charges and credits.
  • Assist with generating and processing payroll deductions, and perform data entry, research, and filing for customer information.
  • Collect parking citations and impoundment fines, issue bus passes, and process departmental mail.
  • Attend the Parking Advisory Committee meetings to record minutes and audio.
  • Train temporary employees and student workers.

Minimum Required Qualifications
High school or equivalent experience. 1+ years experience in customer service, using technology, and handling payments is required. Competency with computers, physical and digital filing systems, and typing. Strong interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication. Strong math skills pertaining to cash and payments. Ability to adapt well to change.Good problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail.Professionalism and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s or equivalent education/experience. Degree relative to Business Administration, Accounting, Office Administration, or related field of study or experience. 3+ years experience in customer service, using technology, and handling payments is preferred. Familiar with SAP and proficient with Microsoft Office products.
