Job Summary:

The Office of Antiracism & DEI (ADEI) is seeking a Student Assistant to support the administrative work of the Office.

Full Job Description:

Supervised by the Coordinator for Equity, Inclusion and Faculty Excellence and Antiracism, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, the Student Assistant will provide administrative support to the Office of ADEI. This individual will support the planning, promotion, and organization of all matters relating to the Office.

Responsibilities / Duties: 

  • Assist with the completion of expense reports and invoices.

  • Assist with preparation of weekly newsletters.

  • Assist staff with preparation and organization of events including reserving rooms, designing flyers, arranging travel plans, itineraries and agendas.

  • Assist with general administrative tasks such as copying, scanning, filing, printing, etc.

  • Support staff with the upkeep of files, databases, spreadsheets, and other records.

  • Reply to general email inquiries professionally and redirect to staff as needed.

  • Assist with preparation of meeting materials and various data entry projects.

  • Prepare, receive, and sort mail.

  • Complete campus errands.

  • Actively contribute to making sure the offices served are welcoming, clean and supportive.

  • Assist with other duties as needed and assigned.

Skills, qualities, and competencies:

  • Federal work study coverage encouraged

  • Freshmen, Sophomore, and Juniors preferred

  • Excellent communication skills: able to give clear and concise information and instructions verbally and in writing.

  • Detail oriented, professional, punctual, reliable, and flexible.

  • Previous administrative experience and knowledge of various office procedures (use of telephone, fax, scanner, and copier) preferred.

  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions (must be well-organized).

  • Knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher) and Google Suite preferred.

  • Aptitude for learning systems (Cvent, USFBlogs, EMMA, etc.)

  • USF student in good academic standing (minimum GPA: 2.0 for undergrads; 3.0 for grad students).

  • Customer-service oriented, personable nature.

  • Able to maintain confidentiality.

  • Team-oriented along with the ability to work independently in an efficient manner and multi-task between concurrent projects.
