What We’re Looking For

The Department of Theatre Arts is seeking an administrative professional to serve in our front office. The Office Manager supports day-to-day operations of the Department of Theatre Arts. The position requires the knowledge and implementation of a wide range of university policies and procedures, including the handling of confidential information. The successful candidate will have strong organizational, prioritizing, and time-management skills, be detail-oriented and have expertise in providing excellent customer service. The candidate must be a self-starter and work well in a team environment. 

A high school diploma, three years of related experience and an active Christian Faith are required. A Bachelor's degree is preferred. 

A valid Texas Driver License with a clear driving record of at least two years is required.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Greet and assist all who enter the Theatre office while promoting a professional environment with excellent customer service
  • Answer a wide range of phone call inquiries relating to Baylor Theatre
  • Perform administrative functions to ensure efficient operation of the office
  • Support the Department Chair through administrative work
  • Maintain records of departmental policies and procedures, class scheduling, student achievement, scholarship requests, degree reports, casting, attendance, etc.
  • Oversee disbursement and reimbursement of petty cash
  • Coordinate travel for guest artists
  • Collaborate with department staff on management and planning of events
  • Supervise and support student workers
  • Design and order merchandise and recruitment items
  • Maintain departmental office and faculty supply needs
  • Partner with various university departments on special projects
  • Use technology applications to generate reports, prepare meeting agendas, transcribe minutes from meetings, create presentations, organize resource documents, and other requested tasks
  • Be willing to be self-taught (with support) on a variety of campus-specific computer applications, including Box, Chair SIS, Ignite, Navigate/Student Success Collaborative, Unified Advising System, and more
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office applications, such as Word and Excel
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
  • Ability to comply with University policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
