Job Summary

Greets and assists visitors in person or over the telephone. Provides general office support.

This position is considered Category I: Mandatory and required on campus or health care facilities to support on-site operations.


Greets visitors, answers telephones and directs customers to appropriate person, office or solution.
Answers questions about the organization and associated activities.
Helps customers locate or request payments.
Processes and distributes mail.
Performs routine accounting work by following prescribed accounting procedures.
Performs basic maintains on printers and other office equipment; arranges for service calls as needed.
Creates and maintains files.
Compiles and prepares financial and business transaction data for processing.
Reviews invoices and payment request forms for completeness and accuracy.
Compares voucher data against source documents to verify accuracy.
Schedules and arranges meetings.
Orders office supplies.
Assists with preparing statements, reports, and correspondence
Assists with data entry tasks.
Prepares journal entries in the accounting system.
The incumbents in this position are expected to become familiar with the department’s policies and procedures. They are also required to develop a working knowledge of departmental organizations and their procedures in order to assist faculty, staff and students with Accounts Payable related issues.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency required. One year full-time customer service experience or equivalency, demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required.
