Summary

The U-M Department of Cardiac Surgery is seeking an individual to assist with various activities related to the Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) program. The selected candidate will provide general administrative support to team members by assisting with assorted projects and tasks. This may include creating and editing documentation, entering data and querying databases, generating reports, filing and organizing paperwork and/or study binders, assisting clinical and research personnel as needed, and performing other miscellaneous duties as assigned. 


In this role, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn medical terminology and work in a professional healthcare setting.
  • Interact with experienced administrative, clinical, and research personnel at various levels.
  • Develop a basic understanding of administrative, clinical, and research processes within an academic medical center.

Required Qualifications*
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms.
  • Ability to follow through on assigned tasks and pay close attention to detail. 
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of organizational and time management skills. 
  • Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills as well as a service-oriented attitude. 
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft office software products.

Work Schedule
  • Monday through Friday.
  • Approximately 10 hours per week.

Background Screening
