Summary of Duties:

This part-time position within the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (CPPS) provides administrative, clerical, and staff support to the Rural Health Initiative and the Yakima faculty in the Department of Pharmacotherapy. 
Duties include providing administrative and classroom support, including but not limited to: greeting and directing visitors and students; updating databases; composing written communications; maintaining office supplies; establishing and maintaining records; distributing materials and correspondence; providing administrative support for computerized testing and interacting with facilities and information technology support on both campuses regarding office and classroom technical issues. 

This position is located in Yakima.

Job Duties:

50% Office Support/Reception

30% Rural Health Initiative Support

15% Technology and Testing Support

5% Miscellaneous


Required Qualifications:

High School graduation or equivalent and two years of clerical experience; OR equivalent education/experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience providing reception support and customer service in an office setting.
  • Previous experience providing administrative/clerical support to an individual or group of individuals in a business or education setting.
  • Experience using computer software to manage multiple electronic calendars, tasks, teams, including scheduling appointments/meetings and assisting with project management.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Access and PowerPoint.
  • Previous experience at Washington State University or an institution of higher education.
  • Previous experience in healthcare setting.
  • Experience with computerized testing software and learning management systems.
  • Experience with videoconferencing systems.

Monthly Salary: Range 34, $1,764.00 - $2,329.80 per month (pro-rated at .60 FTE), Steps A-M.

Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28. Step M is typically a longevity step.
