Off-Campus Student Engagement Coordinator

The Office of Off-Campus Student & Family Engagement is seeking an Off-Campus Student Engagement Coordinator who will be under general supervision and coordinate administrative, personnel, and logistical support.  Carries out established program objectives and directives. Determines the best approach to accomplish assignments. Communicates, using a variety of media, with internal and external constituencies.  The Coordinator of Off-Campus Student Engagement will create, implement, and evaluate experiences and initiatives that engage off-campus students; create cross-departmental collaborative events, contributing to off-campus student holistic success inside and outside the classroom; plan events for off-campus students in their communities that foster off-campus connections and relationships; educate students on transitioning from on-campus to off-campus living; assist in promoting the mission and values of Off-Campus Student and Family Engagement and the Division of Student Affairs. The Coordinator of Off-Campus Student Engagement is also responsible for managing provided program budgets and providing supervision for student staff. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Creates, implements, and evaluates experiences and initiatives that engage off-campus students, increasing off-campus student retention, persistence, and sense of belonging 
  • Creates cross-departmental collaborative events, including academic partners, with the goal of contributing to off-campus student holistic success inside and outside the classroom 
  • Plans and executes events for off-campus students in their off-campus communities to foster community connections and relationships 
  • Educates students on transitioning from on-campus to off-campus living. Manages the Off-Campus Housing Website 
  • Creates and updates off-campus student educational materials, provided in the Off-Campus Student Lounge and across campus
  • Plans and executes campus engagement opportunities for off-campus partners
  • Advises components of  two student organization(s), to include special population and off-campus organizations
  • Conducts assessment and research on trends and best practices related to off-campus living and engagement
  • Works collaboratively with units throughout the University and serves on various departmental committees
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, a collaborative communication style, and strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience working collaboratively with other units within an institution and the community
  • Strong analytical and assessment abilities to understand the needs and satisfaction of students
  • Experience developing and implementing innovative programming and outreach efforts. Working knowledge of the housing industry, trends, and all aspects of educational programming including, but not limited to leasing, budgeting, roommate matching, etc.
  • Knowledge of student development theories
  • Strong organizational skills

Salary Range: $35,570.00-$40,000.00

 

Qualifications

 

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Counseling, Education, or a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
