Duke Employee Occupational Health & Wellness (EOHW) within the Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health is seeking an experienced Project Coordinator for a full time position.  Duke Employee Occupational Health and Wellness (EOHW) provides services for over 45,000 faculty and staff of the Duke University Health System and Duke University.

JOB DUTIES

  • Perform a variety of professional duties involved in developing and delivering occupational health nursing services to Duke employees. 
  • Provide individual counseling sessions to employees on health maintenance, results of health screenings and health promotion activities.
  • Provide placement health screenings and health assessments, wellness screening, audiometric testing, vision screening, pre-employment and random drug screening, spirometry testing, respirator clearance exams, adult immunizations, and blood borne pathogen exposure care and follow up protocol, surveillance, injury/exposure care and fitness for duty assessment. 
  • Provide pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screening of employees
  • Identify care needs for EOH patients. Collaborate with the nurse manager regarding the development of standards of care, implementation of policies and procedures, patient education and staff education to address the needs of the EOH populations.
  • Recommend, purchase, and maintain medical supplies and equipment necessary for the optimal functioning of the occupational health service of client companies.
  • Collaborate with other on-site members of the occupational health team such as occupational medicine physician, industrial hygienist, safety engineers, participate in continuing education to update knowledge of occupational health and safety including legal regulations applicable to occupational health and safety
  • Manage proper protocols for breath alcohol testing, drug screen handling, audiometer testing, spirometer testing and other services as needed.
  • Develop and/or maintain and audit employee health records to ensure continuity of care, employee confidentiality, and accuracy in record keeping.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Occupational health team, participate in continuing education to update knowledge of occupational health and safety including legal regulations applicable to occupational health and safety.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/TRAINING

Work requires completion of an accredited Bachelor's of Science in Nursing, Associates degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma program with coursework in occupational and/or environmental safety. State of North Carolina licensure is also required.

EXPERIENCE

Work requires six months of nursing experience.
