Job Description:

The College of Nursing and Advanced Health Professions (CONAHP) is currently seeking adjunct LVN, ADN, and BSN licensed nurses to become teaching assistants and nursing tutors for students. Selected individuals will provide support and expertise to help facilitate didactic and clinical practice experiences for students enrolled in the nursing programs as assigned by program chairs or the Dean of Nursing primarily for evening and weekend didactic and clinical courses or in accordance with programmatic needs.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Responsible for assisting in teaching/tutoring a variety of undergraduate courses/clinicals/skills within the LVN or ADN program. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Required:  

  • Current and unencumbered licensed vocational or registered nurse in the State of Texas or compact privilege to practice nursing in the State of Texas. 
  • Must have been actively employed in nursing for the past three (3) years. 

Preferred:  

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or licensed vocational nurse with 3+ years recent clinical experience 
  • Master's degree in nursing or above, preferred 
  • Active and unencumbered Texas or compact VN/RN License 
  • A minimum of two years teaching experience in a nursing program on the undergraduate and graduate level (if teaching or teaching assistant for didactic classes)
     

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Variances from regular working hours may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position. 
  • Various facilities within the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex, including far east, west, north, and south of Dallas.   

Compensation & Benefits

This opportunity is budgeted at $1,124-1,540 per credit and may vary per course with student enrollment. Additional compensation factors may impact total compensation.
