Scope of Position

The Quality and coordinator is fundamental to initiatives of the American College of Surgeons Verified Trauma Program. This includes quality reviews of documentation, review of patient safety reports, development, implementation, and evaluation of process improvement plans to evaluate the program's efforts to improve the lives of our community through excellence in patient care, education, and research in trauma.

Position Summary

This position will work in a close collaborative relationship with the Trauma Medical Director (TMD), the Trauma Program Manager (TPM) and the rest of the trauma team to develop, implement, and evaluate OSUMC's trauma program through quality reviews and process improvement. The Quality and PI coordinator will work with the TMD for peer review and closed-loop communication on all quality concerns. The position will be involved in all elements of the trauma program. They will develop a functional knowledge base in trauma data collection trauma data entry, trauma coding, data validation, and quality monitoring. Trauma data analysis Program annual report.

Minimum Qualifications

For Hire:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing with a master’s degree in nursing or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Ohio.
  • Current clinical experience in trauma (3-5 years)
  • Clinical instruction experience (2-4 years)
  • Strong leadership skills, effective communication, problem-solving, and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills
