General Statement
Great Falls College MSU is seeking a Nursing Faculty member to join the team for
our Nursing Programs (ASN and PN). This position performs instruction-related
duties and responsibilities for the Division of Health Sciences and the Nursing programs in accordance with the philosophy, mission, policies, and procedures of the College. Our students have access to a state of the art Simulated Hospital located on campus, a resource that offers valuable hands on, real life experiences not offered at other institutions. GFC MSU’s Nursing programs are approved through the MT State Board of Nursing.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop, teach, and assess didactic, laboratory and clinical classes.
  • Supervise and instruct students completing courses and clinical requirements.
  • Advise students in the nursing programs.
  • Participate in college activities and committees beyond one’s discipline.
  • Regularly attend program meetings.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
  • Bachelors degree in Nursing although must obtain a Masters Degree in Nursing within four years of hire.
  • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license.
  • Minimum of two years of recent experience experience in practice as bedside RN, (within the past five years).
  • Critical Care experience and expertise.
  • Strong written, oral, electronic and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong team-member and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
  • Recent obstetrics, pediatric, or medical experience. Needs t o be within the past 5-10 years.
  • Masters Degree in Nursing.
  • Previous instructing experience in classroom, laboratory and/or clinical settings.

Great Falls College MSU is a comprehensive two-year college located on a beautiful 20-acre campus and serves approximately 2000 students a year, including students taking courses and programs online. It is one of four units of Montana State University and MSU’s only “stand-alone” two-year college. An extensive renovation and expansion project in 2010 added three state-of-the-art science labs, an expansive library and resource center, and an Industrial Trades building. An infant through preschool learning center was built in 2012 to provide early learning opportunities for children of students and the community. Renovations include a one-stop Student Central area, remodeled bookstore, a community conference center, and additional space for the Outreach/Workforce Development Department and College Relations and Advancement. MSU – Northern’s Great Falls satellite campus is located at Great Falls College MSU, offering 4-year and graduate degrees. The College has a reputation for high-quality educational programming delivered with a student-centered philosophy.
The College constantly evaluates its educational offerings to provide challenging, high-demand programs leading to transfer Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees, and terminal Associate of Applied Science degrees. One-year Certificates and professional certifications are also offered. As a comprehensive two-year college, credit and non-credit community enrichment, customized training and contract courses are provided. Day, evening, weekend, and online classes are offered.
