Scope of Position:

The Nursing Educator position in the Operating Room is responsible for providing personalized education by designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating classroom and clinical instruction to support the orientation, ongoing educational needs, and student/resident experiences in the Operating Room. The Perioperative Educator provides support, education, guidance, direction and assistance to the patient care team in order to attain/maintain quality and safe care to patients in designated clinical areas. The Perioperative Educator functions as an educational consultant within the Operating Rooms, working with teams to cultivate collaboration, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The educator provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of personalized nursing care with a focus on positive patient care outcomes and the patient’s involvement in his/her own plan of care. Patients and their families will experience the benefits of patient focused care, through the integrated skills of all care team members.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Nursing and 3 years clinical perioperative experience or clinical instruction experience preferred.
