Summary of Position
The clinical placement coordinator is responsible for facilitating clinical placements for graduate students. This job will involve identifying and negotiating clinical placement settings, appropriate preceptors (graduate program), and other clinical-related learning experiences. The clinical placement coordinator will arrange all aspects of the clinical experience including identifying the need for new contracts with potential clinical agencies and/or preceptors and assuring compliance with contractual agreements. The clinical placement coordinator will work closely with those involved in assuring compliance with background checks, health/immunization requirements, and drug screens as appropriate. The clinical placement coordinator will also collaborate with the Director of Nursing/Department Chair to determine placement needs each semester.

Other minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or associates degree and two years relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of advanced nursing practice educational requirements of national credentialing organizations (ANCC and AANP.)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of nursing clinical credentialing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of APRN nursing placement regulations and requirements in NH and neighboring states (e.g., Massachusetts, Maine, and Vermont.)
  • Demonstrated experience working as a member of a multi-person clinical placement team.
  • Strong professional communication skills, calmly working with people expressing frustration, remaining flexible and effective during unexpected situations, or changing conditions
Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Current knowledge of nursing practice and/or health care.
  • Ability to uphold the University’s commitment to inclusive excellence in a diverse learning community.
  • Strong phone presence and experience placing numerous calls daily.
  • Knowledge of computer software programs and applications for word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
  • Ability to work with a limited amount of supervision while anticipating the needs of faculty and students.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to communicate complex information effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
