The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
 

Position Summary

The Nurse Manager is responsible for supervising the nursing staff, including the nurses (LPN and RN), and Medical Assistants. The Nurse Manager will also be responsible for establishing/maintaining an effective triage system; providing primary care nursing to patients; collaborating with the Primary Care Providers (PCPs); acting as a liaison between the nursing staff (and medical assistants) and PCPs; and overseeing the pre-registration process. The Nurse Manager reports directly to the Associate Medical Director for the CUIMC Student Health on Haven.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise nursing staff, including medical assistants and Immunization Coordinator
  • Coordinate staffing schedules for nursing and support staff and evaluate for optimal patient flow and patient access.
  • Provide direct patient care
  • Manage customer service issues that occur at the time of visit
  • Conduct monthly Nurse/Medical Assistant staff meetings.
  • Develop and supervise staff, coordinate new staff orientation, ongoing staff training and evaluate performance of direct reports
  • Actively participate in continuous quality improvement
  • Establish and maintain an effective triage system.
  • Collaborate with the PCPs to provide effective, efficient, high quality medical care
  • Develop, update and edit operational policies and procedures as they pertain to the triage system, laboratory, immunization and preregistration
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and develop policies and procedures for maintenance of AAAHC accreditation
  • Identify education needs of staff; Plan, coordinate and implement ongoing education.
  • Ensure staff have been trained and maintain competencies for laboratory procedures, including CLIA waived testing.
  • Investigate associated costs and benefits of in-house laboratory procedures and medications.
  • Track and analyze important departmental metrics, including utilization
  • Establish inventory guidelines, and appropriate maintenance of clinic supplies, clinic formulary, and vaccine inventory,
  • Maintain oversight of preregistration requirements and ongoing vaccine requirements, monitor and report on student compliance with requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with NYS license
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing
  • At least 4 years??? experience as a Registered Nurse in an ambulatory care setting, college health experience not required but preferred
  • Supervisory experience.
