Job Description

POSITION INFORMATION:  Position is open to pharmacy students currently enrolled at the OUHSC College of Pharmacy.  Position involves assisting the pharmacist on duty with the taking of new orders, input into the dispensing software, and radiopharmaceutical preparation.  Attendance, appropriate phone etiquette, and professionalism are necessary.  Training in radiation safety, DOT regulations, and aseptic technique will be provided.

Duties:

  • Assist the pharmacist on duty with tasks necessary for the operation of a nuclear pharmacy.  
  • Under supervision of an authorized nuclear pharmacist preceptor, prepare unit dose radiopharmaceuticals with attention to both radiation safety and aseptic technique. 
  • Package unit dose radiopharmaceuticals according to DOT regulations; includes appropriate labeling, contamination control checks, and manifest generation as required.  
  • Assist the pharmacist on duty to answer clinical questions regarding use of radiopharmaceuticals and adjunct medication.  
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.
 

Job Requirements

Education:  High School diploma or GED

Requirements:  Must be currently enrolled at the College of Pharmacy

Certifications/ Licenses: Current Intern Certificate issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy

Skills:

  • Ability to lift 50 to 100 lbs
  • Ability to climb, crouch, bend, or stoop  
  • Ability to push or pull
