Details | The University of Utah Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the role of Section Chief in Nuclear Medicine. This pivotal position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the advancement of Nuclear Medicine, Molecular Imaging, and Theranostics by assuming a leadership role and cultivating a collaborative environment that fosters both academic and clinical growth within the Nuclear Medicine section. The successful candidate will undertake a range of responsibilities, including overseeing clinical service lines, ensuring the delivery of exceptional clinical services, pursuing and capitalizing on research opportunities, spearheading educational initiatives for residents and fellows, actively participating in quality improvement and value initiatives, and providing unwavering support to section members as they strive for excellence in their clinical, research, and educational pursuits. This appointment will be at the rank of Associate or Full Professor, with the potential consideration for a departmental leadership position based on the candidate’s academic experience. Qualifications: The ideal candidate for the position of Section Chief in Nuclear Medicine at the University of Utah should have completed training in an ABNM (or ABR/NR) residency program and be board-certified or eligible by ABNM (or ABR/NR). They must also be an Authorized User status for radioisotopes. A current appointment as Assistant Professor or at a higher rank is required. The ideal candidate should possess comprehensive experience in all aspects of Nuclear Medicine practice, including therapies, cardiac imaging, brain imaging, and procedures. Strong interpersonal skills are essential. Additionally, the candidate should have a demonstrated academic interest and a track record of research productivity or educational initiatives. Active involvement in investigational research, extramurally funded research projects, or a leadership role in Nuclear Medicine education is desirable.
