Job Title: National Scholarships and Prestigious Fellowships (NSPF) Advisor

Our NSPF Office is under the direction of the dean of Undergraduate Education. We focus on a small number of prestigious scholarships designed to help junior and senior undergraduates attend elite graduate schools. Ideally, we begin working with students in their first or second years at the university to prepare them to apply for these scholarships.

What You'll Do in This Position: You will work with the NSPF coordinator to advise and support students in producing competitive applications for prestigious scholarships (Fulbright, Truman, Rhodes, Marshall, etc.) and serve as a campus contact for these scholarships. You will also supervise student employees and meet with student applicants, often one-on-one, as they prepare scholarship applications. In your work with students, you will provide extensive, in-depth feedback on drafts of their written applications. Additionally, you will correspond with students, faculty, and national scholarship offices on a regular basis.

 

What Qualifies You for This Role:

Required: Bachelor's degree

Relevant work experience, preferably connected to editing or advisement of high-potential students.

Competence with Microsoft Office Suite

Excellent interpersonal skills

Personal initiative

 

Employee Class: 1/2 Time (17.5 hour)
