Revolving around an intensive studio culture, UIC Design programs simultaneously assert disciplinary expertise and foster interdisciplinary exchange. As one of four schools in the College of Architecture, Design, and the Arts, and as an active partner with the UIC Innovation Center and the Electronic Visualization Laboratory (EVL), School of Design faculty and students regularly collaborate across disciplines at a top tier research institution. Faculty appointments are non-tenured full- or part-time and will be filled depending on qualifications at the level of Instructor or Senior Instructor. Successful candidates will work with the Director, Associate Directors, and Directors of Undergraduate Studies representing the School’s four undergraduate degree programs: Bachelor of Design (BDes) in Graphic Design, BDes in Industrial Design, BA in Design Studies, and BS in Computer Science and Design. Instructor positions carry service responsibilities within the School and opportunities for participation in leadership roles within the Design Foundations Year as well as skills-based instruction in the Master of Design (MDes) Preliminary Year.
