Non Tenure-Track Instructor Position

 The Department of Population Medicine and Diagnostic Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University invites applications for a one-year appointment as an Instructor in the specialty of Ambulatory and Production Medicine. 

 The successful candidate will have private or academic practice experience independently managing individual animal care of horses, cattle (predominantly dairy), and small ruminants with some expertise in population-level health. The instructor will oversee the clinical education and training of students, interns, and residents in a variety of individual and small herd settings. Primary responsibilities will include providing clinical service to all large animal species (routine and emergency), clinical instruction to interns, residents, and veterinary students, didactic teaching in rounds and classes, and collaboration with clinic-associated research projects.

 Candidates must have a DVM or equivalent degree and at least 3 years of clinical experience with horses, cattle, and small ruminants. Experience with donkeys, camelids, and swine is preferred but not required.

 The section of Ambulatory and Production Medicine currently has one full-time Professor, one Associate Professor (also the Section Chief), one Assistant Professor, an Instructor, a part-time Professor, a Clinical Instructor, a licensed veterinary technician, an intern, and an administrative assistant. Our Ambulatory and Production Medicine Clinic offers large animal services within a 25-mile radius of Ithaca, NY, and our faculty engage in regional, national, and international extension and research collaborations.

 Salary will be commensurate with academic credentials and experience.
