Detailed Job Description

RIT’s Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology (ECET) department in the College of Engineering Technology (CET) is currently seeking applications from exceptional candidates for a full-time, teaching-focused, non-tenure track Visiting Lecturer position, to support department programs. Candidates for this position will be expected to teach courses, both classroom and online formats, in one or more of the following areas; embedded system design, C++, Python, Matlab, and hardware descript language. Responsibilities include lecture and laboratory content development and delivery.

Department/College Description

In the College of Engineering Technology, the Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology (ECET) department’s faculty engage students in a blend of project-based and research-oriented educational activities in two bachelor-of-science degree programs and one master-of-science degree.  ECET’s 400 full-time students benefit from the department’s flexible and innovative instructional delivery that features world-class laboratories, cross-disciplinary education, collaborative activities, and a year of industrial experience through cooperative education. The ECET department features state-of-the-art laboratories in smart and autonomous applications, embedded systems, electronics, power & energy, telecommunications, and audio.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications & Education

  • MS in engineering, science, or related field
  • Demonstrated current expertise in one or more of the following fields: embedded system design, C++, Python, Matlab, hardware descript language
  • Approximately three years of relevant industrial experience in the electrical and/or computer engineering fields
  • Demonstrated high quality teaching and/or training
  • Ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the college’s ongoing commitment to cultural diversity, pluralism, and individual differences
