The Department of Occupational Therapy (OT), at New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development, invites applications for a Non-Tenure Track Clinical Assistant Professor position to begin September 1, 2024.  

The Department of Occupational Therapy at NYU is one of the oldest OT programs in the United States. The Department offers an entry-level Clinical Doctorate, a Post-Professional Masters of Arts, a Post-Professional Clinical Doctorate (online), and a Doctorate of Philosophy in research. The mission of the Department of OT is to prepare competent, compassionate, ethical occupational therapists to assume roles as clinicians, leaders, scholars, and researchers. We are committed to substantially increasing the proportion of our faculty from historically underrepresented groups as we strive to create the most intellectually diverse, inclusive, and equitable institution that we can, and especially encourage candidates from historically underrepresented groups to apply.

The Clinical Assistant Professor will teach professional and post-professional level courses, participate in and serve on committees, and provide other service to the Department, School, and University. The teaching load includes 3 courses in the fall, 3 in the spring, and 3 in the summer. Advisement responsibilities will include mentoring entry-level OTD capstone projects as well as working closely with the chair and program directors to support the goals of the programs.      

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $80,000-$120,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

 


Qualifications

Candidates must have an earned doctorate and must have or be eligible for New York State licensure as an occupational therapist. Individuals with a robust clinical background in adult rehabilitation and orthopedics, and experience in teaching, advising, and supervising OT students will be given strong consideration.
