We identify and develop relationships with external organizations that align with the interests of the university and its faculty. Our team works with faculty across Duke University to match areas of expertise and interest with collaborators including industry partners.

The OEP communications intern will work alongside and be mentored by OEP team members, as well as others at Duke University. You will generate informational materials to showcase various faculty and research groups to interested industry partners. During this work, you will have the opportunity to interact with researchers across Duke and learn how to distill scientific and technical information into concise but informative ‘pitch’ type decks. You will also learn about industry trends and priorities and gain insights into important factors to consider when facilitating strategic partnerships between research and industry. You will participate in OEP team meetings and have the opportunity to attend other relevant Duke University meetings and events as they arise. At the end of the internship, you will be experienced in distilling scientific and technical information for industry and the general public. You will have developed a portfolio of presentations which our office will use to showcase cutting-edge Duke research to our industry and other external partners.
