Posting Summary	The Rutgers New Jersey Medical School Department of Neurosurgery is recruiting multiple full-time, fellowship-trained, Skull Based Neurosurgeon but  Cerebrovascular/Endovascular, Pediatrics, Spine, Neuro-Interventionalist, Neuro-Trauma, Peripheral Nerve and Neuro-Oncology Neurosurgeons are welcomed to join our faculty. Along with our current faculty in the Department of Neurological Surgery, these new faculty members will manage and build upon our department’s thriving Neurosurgery Programs where we use the most current technologies available to care for our patients. These positions are an excellent opportunity to join an established high-volume practice.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience	MD Degree and board eligible or board certified in Neurosurgery
Certifications/Licenses	Candidate must possess a valid NJ medical license, CDS and DEA
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities	Candidate must demonstrate excellence as a clinician educator

Overview	The Department of Neurosurgery houses the only allopathic Neurosurgery Residency Training Program in New Jersey and collaborates with an extensive array of health care providers across the Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences units. These well-qualified new faculty members will manage and build upon a thriving academic department at the Assistant/Associate, and/or Professor rank. Rutgers has a residency program, a vast campus community, and clinical centers at New Jersey Medical School in Newark and at Cooperman Barnabas in Livingston. Across our many campuses, there is a wealth of clinical material with basic and translational research opportunities along with educational avenues for training medical students and residents
Statement	Reshaping the future of Neurosurgery and recruiting bright and highly motivated Neurosurgeons and researchers to be part of this pioneering endeavor.   Vast opportunity exists to develop clinical or laboratory research within the framework of the Rutgers institution. Exceptional teamwork, program development, teaching and mentorship abilities are essential, though we also welcome applicants with a demonstrated ability to develop independent research programs with extramural funding. The candidates will be expected to contribute to clinical and educational activities with an emphasis on mentoring students and trainees. Prospective applicants interested in basic research will also be granted protected time to develop lab interests and acquire extramural funding. Immunization Requirements

Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to receive an updated (bivalent) vaccine dose.
