Summary

The Department of Neurology at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) is seeking a qualified neuropsychologist to join the Section of Neuropsychology. The successful candidate will be appointed at a faculty level commensurate with experience and achievement.


Job Duties

Clinical responsibilities: 

Responsibilities include conduct of clinical neuropsychological evaluations within the Neuropsychology Section for a wide variety of patient populations. The section provides services for the assessment of cognition and neuropsychiatric functioning in the context of dementia, movement disorders, including deep brain stimulation, cerebrovascular disease, mental health disorders, multiple sclerosis, attention deficit disorders, traumatic brain injury, and epilepsy, amongst others.  Evaluations are conducted primarily with adults in an outpatient setting but these factors are subject to change with the addition of a hospital facility.

 

Research: 

The candidate's responsibilities will also include contributing to the research mission of the section through a broad range of collaborative research opportunities.

 

Education responsibilities: 

The candidate will interact with learners at various levels from Baylor College of Medicine education programs participating in assigned clinical activities. These will include graduate students, medical students, residents, and fellows. The successful candidate will also participate in the Department's and the Neuropsychology section's programs of seminars. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in Department and BCM faculty activities.

 

Department specific tasks include testing of adult patients with acute and chronic neurological disorders and access of relevant electronic medical record methods at the various BCM affiliated hospitals. Tasks also include provide medical education to various learners assigned to the areas of the faculty member. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in Department and BCM faculty activities.


Minimum Qualifications
  • The candidate must hold a doctorate in clinical psychology or neuropsychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) from an APA/CPA-accredited program, successful completion of an APA/CPA-accredited internship, and completion of a two-year clinical neuropsychology post-doctoral fellowship. 
  • The candidate must be board-eligible/board-certified by the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology.
