Description

The University of Chicago's Department of Neurology seeks full-time adult Movement Disorders faculty at any rank. Appointees will join a growing neurosciences service line, which brings together more than 90 neurologists, neurosurgeons and neuroscientists based in academic and clinical departments across the campus into a cohesive program. Appointees will practice at University of Chicago’s expanding clinical locations both in and outside of our main campus in Hyde Park. Appointees will participate in clinical, educational, and research activities. Possible clinical activities include outpatient clinic, inpatient service, procedures including botulinum toxin injection for movement disorders and spasticity, deep brain stimulation candidate selection, intraoperative monitoring, and programming for Parkinson’s disease, tremor and dystonia. The final clinical deployment will be based on the needs of the institution and expertise of the candidate selected. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications. 

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) have completed 1 or more years of movement disorder fellowship, 3) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 4) be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology.
