Position Information


Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The TEACCH Autism Program began in 1972 as a system of university-based regional centers to serve children, adolescents and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families. As part of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the program has an active clinical, teaching, and research program. TEACCH operates seven community regional clinics across the state. Each center offers a set of core services along with unique demonstration programs meeting the needs of individuals with ASD, their families, and professionals across the state of North Carolina. Also, part of TEACCH are the Carolina Living and Learning Center, a residential/vocational training facility for autistic adults as well as an Employment Services program providing Job Coaching and related services to adults on the spectrum.
TEACCH is part of the North Carolina Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) program and faculty are actively involved in student and professional training activities within the state, nation, and across the world. All TEACCH programs are coordinated through a central administration and research unit in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
TEACCH provides clinical services such as diagnostic evaluations, psychotherapy, speech language therapy, and parent support groups. In addition, TEACCH conducts training nationally and internationally and provides consultation for teachers, residential care providers, and other professionals from a variety of disciplines. Research activities include clinical trials intervention and implementation studies. 
This position is located at the TEACCH Administration & Research Building in Chapel Hill, NC.
Position Summary
Consulting with TEACCH operations director & senior leadership on IT Infrastructure issues and proposed solutions for TEACCH in 10 locations across the state of NC. Analyze IT current structure including systems housed on internal servers, review systems access/permissions policies and procedures within TEACCH, review TEACCH’s disaster recovery plans and use information to identify areas of weakness or needed updates. Work with department leadership and staff to update/modify and create as needed department-specific practices around systems access and use to ensure IT security compliance, recommendations for managing department equipment inventory of hardware, software & licensing.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information systems, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Electronics or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of progressive networking related experience such as network design, analysis or network management;
- Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited university and four years of progressive networking experience; or
- An Associate’s degree in Electronics or Networking Technology and four years of progressive networking related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Journey level requires an additional one year of experience.
- Advanced level requires an additional two years of experience.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Detailed knowledge of TEACCH or similar organizations; Experience managing tech support for a diverse customer base; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication skills and ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels; experience creating and managing IT policies & best practice.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Prior experience in higher education setting preferred.
