Salary:

$5,705.43 - $7,833.33 per month commensurate with experience.

Job Description Summary:

The Network Engineer IV, under direction from RELLIS Director of IT, manages enterprise network integration, configuration, and implementation of computer networks, local area networks, wide area networks, internet, intranet, cloud, convergence, and other data communication systems. The TAMUS RELLIS campus is in the process of upgrading/installing a new, highly secure network implementing Zero Trust and CMMC level 3 segments. The Network Engineer IV will play a pivotal role in design/integration/implementation of the network micro segmentation and authentication process using Cisco ISE, DNAC, and Cisco Firepower security appliances (with assistance from vendors and team.) This new network will serve multiple TAMUS agencies and academic institutions at the RELLIS campus.

Responsibilities:

- Implements network activities with assistance from vendor and other RELLIS staff
- Manages/troubleshoot/plans for the new wireless network at RELLIS
- Assist/troubleshoot/secures the RELLIS private 5G network
- Implement tests used to certify network to required installation design standards.
- Analyzes, troubleshoots, tracks, and repairs data communications networks.
- Works with clients to identify networking supporting clients' goals.

- Consults with clients to review project plans and schedules, secure approval of test results, and discuss problems or concerns.
- Reviews the accuracy of documentation of network engineering designs, plans, maps, methods, and procedures. Documents problems and repairs.
- Design/Implements new technology deployments and integration testing.
- Monitors and maintains network security with direction from RELLIS IT Security
- Implements the evaluation of new technologies to determine their applicability with regards to clients' needs.
- Assists project leader with developing work plans and time schedules for projects including outlining phases, identifying personnel, and computing equipment requirements.
- Documents configuration changes and follows approved Change Management procedures in RELLIS standard Change Management platform.

- Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Eight years of related experience in network engineering, switching, wireless projects, network protocols, encryption, topologies, overall system integration/convergence, video and data convergence, integrating systems in multi-user, multiplatform, and operating system environments.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Preferred Qualifications:

- Knowledge of switching protocols, domain name system (DNS), dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP), proxy functions, security protocols, time protocols, tag and label switching. Knowledge of virtualization and storage area network (SAN) solutions in network, security, and computing. - - Knowledge of network system analysis and design techniques for video and data. 
- Skills in strategic thinking, research, and planning to include: creativity/innovation, design theory, advanced systems theory, project portfolio management, strategic change management, risk management, strategic disaster recovery & business continuity, ROI analysis, integrating solutions, leveraging strategic resources, strategic partnering, conflict management, advanced change management. 
- Strategic technical expertise to include, developing discipline specific expertise in others, enterprise ­level policies, and advanced technology research and design skills. 
- Strategic industry related skills to include, in-depth knowledge of the global IT industry and trends, advanced knowledge of IT security regulations, and advanced knowledge of current and emerging IT industry issues and trends. 
- Other qualifications that will be advantageous (but not required) for applicant to have experience in any advanced network operation or security certification (ex:CCNA, CCNP, CCIE). 
- Experience with Cisco DNAC/ISE. 
- Experience with Cisco wireless.
- Experience with Radius servers/authentication. 

- Experience with EDURoam wireless. 
- Experience with fiber cabling and patching (SM and MM) Experience with VMWare ESX version 6+ 
- Experience with DC powered networking equipment Experience with Schneider/APC Uninterruptable Power System Experience with server room cooling. 
- Experience with MS Windows Server (2016+). 
- Experience managing technical team. 
- ITIL Foundations certification. 
- PMP certification.
