LOCATION: Information Technology Services
STARTING HOURLY RATE: $27.86+ hourly, depending upon education and experience, IT 5
POSITION PURPOSE: South Dakota Mines seeks a Network Administrator to join our Information Technology Service (ITS) team. This position will research, design, install, maintain, and support the technology associated with distance learning and video conferencing, as well as the technology equipment in the classrooms.
The successful candidate will possess the knowledge and abilities outlined below.
Knowledge of:
· Computer software, hardware, and peripherals
· LAN and WAN technologies
· Video production and transmission
· Base level network protocols and topologies
Ability to:
· Communicate information clearly and concisely both in oral and written form
· Exercising tact, patience, and professional demeanor
· Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships
· Interacting in a supportive manner with faculty, staff, and students
· Mange projects from design to completion
· Identify potential source of system problems
· Operate a variety of software applications
· Lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds)
· Provide outstanding customer service
