What You Will Do

Use your skills and enthusiasm to implement new employeetraining programs for one of the most important research institutions in the world.As a part of the Operational Readiness Implementation, Training & Mission Services Group (ORI-1), you will be able to apply your excellent customer service, logistics, coordination and computer-based skillsets to assist new employees with onboarding, orientation and navigation through training programs within the Associate Laboratory Directorate for Weapons Production (ALDWP). Reporting directly to the New Employee Training (NET) team First Line Manager (FLM), you will spend your day in a highly interactive and cooperative environment, with day-to-day duties that range from performing calendar management, learning management system administration, course implementation and navigational guidance to a dedicated cohort subset of 5-10 individuals throughout the course of their 3-6 month NET Academy program.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Operational Functions

Basic knowledge of business activities in an operational environment, including familiarity with one or more of the following: formality of operations, compliance practices, configuration management, training and qualification, and feedback and improvement.

Computer Skills/Business Systems

Knowledge of business and operations systems and standard software applications (i.e. Microsoft and Adobe products). Ability to quickly learn and adapt to use of LANL business systems (i.e. Oracle, UTrain, Issues Management, etc.). Ability to effectively manage multiple, complex and overlapping calendars.

Critical Thinking

Entry-level experience in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions on problems affecting facility operations and operational quality assurance.

Communication

Basic ability to conceptualize and communicate program requirements and detailed elements to both technical and non-technical personnel. Demonstrated skill with interpersonal, written, and verbal communications.

Customer Service

Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to provide clear, concise support and guidance to others in sometimes stressful situations. Ability to interact professionally with all types of personnel, including external interfaces and executive management.

Education and Experience

Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution and 2 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

Additional Education and Training

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Special Skills/Knowledge

  • Basic knowledge of documentation quality assurance, including document controls and records management.

  • Familiarity with regulatory guidance and the implementation thereof.

  • Experience with educational programs and/or academic institutions.

Additional Details

Directive 206.2-Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2 . New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
