Description

NER Summer Internship 2024

Join the New England Review, Middlebury’s award-winning quarterly literary journal, to help us to publish and promote excellent new literature from around the world. This summer our interns will read and evaluate manuscripts for biweekly discussions with NER editors, conduct Q&As with our staff readers, and prepare a display for Davis Library. Throughout the summer interns will also engage in a research project, which will put them in touch with editors at other literary magazines to learn how the work gets done, from events and marketing to editorial outreach and community partnerships. They will also perform a variety of day-to-day tasks, including creating posts in WordPress, proofreading and fact-checking texts, screening and logging manuscripts, editing video and audio, and other duties as assigned. This opportunity is designed for students who are interested in contemporary literature and translation, and who have a strong desire to learn more about writing and publishing.
