NCORP Clinical Research Associate – Georgetown University Medical Center

The National Capital Area (NCA) Minority/Underserved (MU) National Cancer Institute Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP) is a national network that brings cancer clinical trials and care delivery studies to people in their own communities. It includes 46 community sites nationwide. is based at Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center and comprises Medstar Georgetown University Hospital  and MedStar Washington Hospital Center .

Job Overview

The NCORP Clinical Research Associate serves as a primary research associate for activities related to helping recruit patients to NCORP approved protocols in responsibilities that include but are not limited to:

  • Screens clinic schedules, obtains informed consent on all eligible and interested participants, registers and enrolls participants; and administers study-related questionnaires, biospecimen acquisition, delivery and shipment, data entry, and maintenance of records.
  • Conducts all work according to the study protocols, standard operating procedures, HIPAA and human subject’s protection guidelines.
  • Performs participant follow-up.
  • Fully documents all procedures and conducts routine quality assurance checks.
  • Completes surveys and data requests from related to NCORP and participating in NCORP Webex Meetings.
  • Performs duties in accordance with Georgetown University Medical Center’s philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.

Work Interactions

The NCORP Research Associate reports to the NCORP Program Manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree - preference for Master’s degree
  • At least 2 years of experience in clinical research
  • Experience with interactive databases, Microsoft, and EHR systems
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Analytical abilities
