Sooner Flight Academy is seeking staff to work with children ages 6-18 years old. Primary duties will include assisting in teaching aviation related hands-on science and fun physics at the Max Westheimer Airport in Norman, OK. Additional duties include lifting, loading, packing supplies/equipment; setting up equipment; clerical duties including but not limited to answering phones, customer service, inventory. Ability to speak clear, concise English in front of an audience. Other duties as assigned. Outdoor activities will take place during all programs, and candidates must be able to walk and accompany students at the airport and grass covered fields. Occasional hours throughout the school semester available for manning field trips and school programs as needed - usually between 9am and 2pm during the week. Full/part time hours available May 16th through August 2nd.
Job Requirements

Required Education: High school diploma or GED, and experience working with children as a positive role model.
Skills:
Must have working knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Office applications.
Must have demonstrated oral/written communication skills (English).
Must have demonstrated skills and ability to work independently and as a team member.
Must be able to follow a lesson plan and speak in front of a group.
Must have excellent leadership skills.
Certifications:
Valid Class D Driver's License
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Advertised Physical Requirements:
- Willingness and ability to lift, load, and haul supplies, materials, and equipment up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to set up and tear down equipment and displays
- Ability to walk, including over uneven terrain
Department Preferences:
- Teaching experience with children 6-18 years old.
- Preference for candidates with aviation and/or teaching experience.
- Preference for candidates with current, non-expired CPR/First Aid certification.
