Job Details:


Purpose

Design, develop, integrate, troubleshoot, and test power and low level signal electronic components for Special Warfare platforms in the Advanced Technology Laboratory (ATL).

 


Responsibilities
  • Design and prototype embedded, circuit-level and system hardware, ranging from power distribution and amplification to microcontrollers.

  • Document the design thoroughly and clearly through schematics, block diagrams, wiring diagrams, parts lists and simulation results and document progress.

  • Incrementally test, troubleshoot, and verify hardware on prototypes.  Integrate the hardware onto large and small platforms and systems.

  • Support and enhance divisional infrastructure and testing capabilities

  • Other related functions as assigned.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or other related discipline.

  • Demonstrated knowledge in embedded systems product design/development. Experience is required in at least one of the following: analog and mixed signal circuit design, PCB design, signal integrity, DC/DC power or test engineering.

  • Experience using PCB Design Tools.

  • Knowledge of common interfaces such as I2C, SPI, RS-232 and USB.

  • Firm understanding of acceptable engineering documentation standards and version control.

  • Ability to create test procedures to validate and ensure that electrical design requirements of products are met.

  • Knowledge of electrical, software and mechanical and systems interactions.

  • Ability to use electrical lab equipment for hands-on troubleshooting of electrical systems.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to articulate clearly and concisely.

  • Self-motivated, quick learner, results-oriented and a clear focus on quality.

  • Willingness/ability to perform domestic travel

US Citizen. Selected applicant is subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at level appropriate to project requirements of the position. .


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Linux. Experience with a wide variety of communication and bus architectures (USB, Ethernet, Fiber Optic, PCIe, etc.) and their cabling requirements.

  • Experience with SPICE or similar simulation tools.

  • Experience with developing FPGA firmware for STM electronics.

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0

Salary Range

$88,500-$120,000+/negotiable depending on experience
