Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm


Job Summary: The NAGPRA Coordinator serves as a primary point of contact for NAGPRA-related matters at the University. Co-organizes monthly consultations. Assists in acquiring funding and supplies for the NAGPRA Program. Interfaces with academic, tribal, and government agencies. Co-authors federal grants, reports, and publications. Writes and prepares notices of inventory completion.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or a closely related field and some experience.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.


Skills and Knowledge: Strong leadership, facilitation, interpersonal, and collaboration skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Computer skills (spreadsheet applications, personal computing networks, internet software, etc.). Ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary groups under high levels of activity. Detail oriented. Ability to manage and meet deadlines. Ability to anticipate and plan proactively for known deadlines and annual reporting cycles.


Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Anthropology or a related field. Experience working in museums and/or a higher education setting. Experience working on NAGPRA-related matters, such as consultation and inventory.
