Desired Qualifications :Master's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Cultural Resources Management, Anthropology, Archaeology, Native American Studies, or History of Native American people. Demonstrated experience with collection management best practices and standards; work with archaeological collections and associated archival records; with establishing and building working relationships with tribal communities, including culturally respectful and appropriate guidelines issued by tribal nations and/or their official designees of record; and supervising staff and project/program management. Familiarity with current literature relating to anthropology, archaeology, Native American cultures of North America and the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) and pertinent State laws. Knowledge of CSU processes, protocols, and procedures. Ability to communicate and adhere to tribal requests regarding the care and storage of ancestral human remains and cultural items.
Compensation : Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary range is $3,938 - $11,703/monthly. A comprehensive benefits package is provided.
Appointment : The Administrator I appointment will be made under the guidelines for management and supervisory employees of the California State University. All rights and benefits associated with this appointment are governed by the Management Personnel Plan. This is a temporary position, annually renewable, if needed.
