Museum Educator

Assists in the execution of educational activities. Implements programs that engage with school and community groups. Participates in the efforts to promote museum programs and build the museum's audience. Supervises one or more educational staff; as needed.

• Plans and implements learning and engagement programs for all audiences according to regional and national education standards.
• Assists with coordinating school and community groups to develop and implement programs that engage their interests.
• Utilizes assessment and evaluation strategies for museum programs and content.
• Participates in the exhibition development process working closely with curatorial and designs teams to develop interpretative materials and exhibition experience.
• Assists with budget preparation and allocation of resources for educational programs and activities. Assists with the preparation of sponsorships and grant applications for educational projects.
• Participates in the efforts to promote programs and to reach targeted audiences. Maintains considerable public contact.
• Interprets museum operation administrative rules and policies and recommends new and improved programs to effectively manage museum education operations.

• Bachelor's degree in related discipline and two (2) years' experience in related field.

• State of Florida Professional Educator's Certification.

• Must attend meetings off campus and  occasionally attend functions on weekends and evening
