Post-doctoral Associate – Adams Center for Parkinson’s Disease Research

We are looking for an exceptional Post-doctoral Associate to join the Scherzer Laboratory at Yale. The candidate will lead a transformational project designed to unravel novel mechanisms of Parkinson’s and to rapidly repurpose therapeutics using human iPSC models. Candidate therapeutics will undergo pre-clinical development including preclinical efficacy studies, target mechanism dissection using molecular genetics, dose-response studies, and animal model testing. The ideal candidate will be driven by our shared mission to cure Parkinson’s disease. Previous experience with stem cells is required. At least one prior first-author publication is required.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in molecular genetics, biology, neurobiology, molecular/cellular biology, or a related field, with at least one year of related research experience
  • Prior first author publication
  • Minimum of three-year commitment is required
  • Prior lab experience with human pluripotent stem cells and neurons, confocal microscopy, or molecular biology
  • Mission driven to advance neuroscience
  • Documented excellent English verbal and written skills
